Q2 2024 Dining and Restaurants App Trends in a Unified Market

In the second quarter of 2024, the dining and restaurant app category saw varied user engagement across the top applications. Sensor Tower provides a snapshot of how these apps performed in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

McDonald’s - Non-US experienced a fluctuating download trend starting at roughly 8K in early April and peaking at nearly 12K towards the end of May. Weekly active users began at approximately 247K in April, saw a decline mid-quarter, and ended with around 191K active users by late June.

BURGER KING® Österreich maintained a download count starting at about 1K and reaching nearly 2.4K in mid-May. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 1.4K to around 1.4K over the quarter.

For TheFork - Restaurant bookings, downloads varied, starting at approximately 748 and dipping to around 584 in mid-June before slightly recovering to about 706 by the quarter's end. Weekly active users displayed a modest increase from roughly 4.8K to 5.2K in April, followed by a decline to approximately 4.5K by late June.

L'Osteria Amici Club showed a gradual increase in downloads from around 533 to a peak of 779 in late May, then ending the quarter with about 497 downloads. Weekly active user data for L'Osteria Amici Club was not available.

Lastly, Starbucks Österreich saw an upward trend in downloads, beginning the quarter with around 344 and reaching nearly 507 in early May, ultimately ending with a spike to about 476 downloads in the last week of June. Weekly active user figures for Starbucks Österreich were not provided.
